THE IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON OUR PLANET
Climate change is a real event that should concern us because of its implications and the disasters it will cause. Climate change refers to long-term changes in temperatures and weather patterns. These changes can be natural or provoked, the latter are more worrisome because they will cause a brutal imbalance in the environment. This is the case of human activities, mainly due to the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas.
Something you should know!
Today, greenhouse gas concentrations are at the highest level since 2 million years ago. If we don't do something now, we won't be able to do anything later?
This is something very alarming, it has caused a number of alterations on the planet, such as:
.- Droughts
Droughts will increase due to climate change. If temperatures rise between 2 and 3 degrees Celsius, this will cause water shortages for between 1.1 and 3.2 billion people.
- Temperature increase in rainforests
The jungle is a very important habitat for the planet, because it houses a huge amount of trees and plants, these will be responsible for reserving a large part of the carbon produced naturally or artificially, the fact that the temperature rises will involve a very strong blow to the organisms that live there, because there are beings that can not withstand such abrupt changes, which will cause their death and not only that, but also that of their predators.
All this will lead to a drastic change in the environment, we will not play with the life of our planet.
WHAT HAVE THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE PLANET DONE TO REDUCE THE PRODUCTION OF GREENHOUSE GASES?
Different countries have made joint decisions on what should be done to reduce the production of greenhouse gases, we will mention some of them:
- Paris Agreement
There have been solutions that imply low carbon emissions and openness to new markets, more and more countries, regions, cities and companies are establishing carbon neutrality objectives. Zero emission solutions are becoming competitive in all economic sectors and already account for 25% of emissions. This trend is most noticeable in the energy and transportation sectors.
- Kyoto Protocol
The Kyoto Protocol was the first global commitment to curb the emissions responsible for global warming and laid the foundations for future international agreements on climate change. It should be noted that during the years that have elapsed it has been seen that most of the countries involved here, failed to meet the proposed goals, although it will be achieved.
We have seen that we are greatly damaging our planet and it is in our hands to save it, we must act now that it is not too late. Let's take care of our planet, let's not wait to see what will happen if we don't do it. We will not stand idly by
Our planet is the greatest relic we own, we will save it!
